NEWS May 20th 2008 Share has posted a blog on her myspace page, in which she talks about a couple of musical projects she and Bam (her husband and drummer in Bubble) are working on. One is a new Bubble album, and the other will be a project where they have many guests play and sing on the album. Meanwhile, Vixen are currently writing for their next studio album, tentatively due spring 2009 with an accompanying tour. May 14th 2008 There is to be a reunion of 3 members of the original Vixen recording line-up. A full reunion of the band that recorded the first 2 albums wasn't possible but
Roxy, Janet and Share have decided to record some new material together. See Roxy's blog about it here. May 9th 2008 Roxy has written a blog for the Modern Drummer myspace site, talking about John Bonham's playing and the time she and Maxine met Led Zeppelin. Check it out here. May 6th 2008 Here is the interview with Jan from Headbang, again the article as published in the April 2008 issue, followed by the interview in English. Thanks again to Ilknur for the mag and the text! April 15th 2008 I now have available for viewing Roxy's interview in Headbang, click here to see the article followed by the interview in English. I guess that is the original version as I'm not aware that Roxy speaks Turkish ;-) Note that the article was originally published in January 2008. Many thanks to Ilknur for the pic and the text! April 3rd 2008 Roxy is currently recording a drum track for a tune with Carina Alfie. The title of the track is "Universe of Dreams" and it should be included on the next CD by the Argentinian guitarist. April 1st 2008 Roxy has posted a new track, Pounding Torque, essentially a solo drum track with added motorbike noises plus percussion from Brian Judkins. You can hear it on her myspace page or her official website (go to audio clips). Jan's interview with the Turkish Headbang magazine is now out, in the April 08 issue. Again, I will have scans and a translation at some point! February 7th 2008 There is a new interview with Roxy at MUEN Magazine. It is located in this blog, towards the bottom left. Amongst other things, Roxy talks about the possibility of working with guitarist Carina Alfie, and playing some summer shows, including maybe Rocklahoma. Roxy will also have a new column in Music Entertainment Magazine - if you have a drumming question for her, email it to: groovequeen@musicentertainmentmagazine.com January 23rd 2008 Following Jan's interview, there is now a podcast available of Jenna's interview with the MIB show on hardrockradiolive.com January 18th 2008 Vixen have launched an official youtube channel. Go to this location to watch videos ranging from promo videos from the 1980s to recent live footage of the current line-up. January 11th 2008 An audio interview with Jan originally broadcast on hardrockradiolive.com is now available as a podcast to listen to/download. During the interview mention is made of the Live in Sweden DVD which may be released as a package with the live CD around spring time, and of possible tour dates - US summer shows and European summer festival dates, with maybe some additional dates in the spring or fall. There is an interview with Roxy in the January 08 issue of Headbang - a supplement which comes with the Turkish magazine Blue Jean. I hope to have a scan of the article and an English translation at some point ;-) December 11th 2007 There is a new interview with Roxy now up at Metal Monthly. There is also an interview with Vixen on the same site, though I don't know how new that is ;-) Photos from the Hard Rock Hell Festival are posted on Lynn Louise Lowrey's page. November 21st 2007 Jan & Jenna have made it to the final of the USA Songwriting Competition in the Rock category with 'I Try' from the Live & Learn album. Various sites, including blabbermouth and bravewords, are reporting that Vixen will play the Rocklahoma festival in 2008. However, this seems to be based on a Vixen at Rocklahoma date being posted on pollstar.com which has since been removed, so do not take this as being confirmed. Another new interview with Roxy can be read at Heavy Metal Time Machine. In addition to Roktopuss, Roxy says she is planning on recording instrumentals (she was working on one with bass work by Michael Pisculli at the time of the interview) and also recording more 'heavy kickass tunes' with her sister Maxine. November 1st 2007 A new interview with Roxy is up at http://metalzoneprod666.com, The World's Online Underground Metal Magazine. October 19th 2007 There is a review of Roktopuss' 4-track demo CD up now at rockunited.com October 17th 2007 The release of Vixen's Live in Sweden CD has been put back. From Blabbermouth : A new interview with Roxy Petrucci regarding Roktopuss and her musical influences, etc has been posted at AOR Underground. October 5th 2007 Here are scans of Roktopuss from the Sept 07 issue of Music Entertainment Magazine. Thanks so much to Anthony at ME Mag, check out their website and myspace page.
September 14th 2007 It seems that the dates for the proposed Vixen/Hanoi Rocks/LA Guns tour were prematurely posted (on Phil Lewis of LA Guns' myspace)
and were not confirmed. See statements on the official Vixen page and the official Hanoi Rocks page.  Also any tickets that were being
sold are being withdrawn from sale, see the livenation page for the proposed Astoria show which lists it as cancelled for example. It
remains to be seen whether any shows will go ahead ... September 10th 2007 Maxine has posted a new song on her myspace page, called "My QT". This is from her forthcoming album, "Don't Hate Me". Roktopuss news : Roxy and Lorraine are on the cover of the latest issue of Music Entertainment Magazine, along with an extensive article inside. The magazine is distributed for free in Florida. August 30th 2007 More dates for the Vixen European tour with Hanoi Rocks and L.A. Guns have been posted on Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns' myspace
page, so I think these can be taken as being fairly confirmed :-) August 29th 2007 Some likely dates for the European tour, please note these are not official yet : August 26th 2007 Lynn Louise Lowrey was just interviewed tonight on Smokin Tunz Radio. News revealed during the interview is
that Vixen will be teaming up for a European tour with L.A. Guns and Hanoi Rocks. This will be starting in October, through
November, and possibly into December. One date that was mentioned is Nov 17th at the Astoria in London. August 16th 2007 Vixen will release a live album, 'Live in Sweden', on October 8th via Castle (Castle Music I assume,
a subsidiary of Sanctuary Records). The CD was recorded at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2005, and I believe
should be longer than the Extended Versions CD which was taken from the same show, although possibly it still won't
feature the full 19 song set.
Presumably the album cover? Aug 18th : the track listing has been posted on the official Vixen site. July 13th 2007 Vixen has a new tour date, on September 1st at the Power Box Festival in Darrington, WA. This
is an all female festival including other artists such as Doro, the Iron Maidens and Girlschool, with part of the event's proceeds going to Caring Coaches, a non-profit organization for cancer research awareness. May 7th 2007 Live pictures from the Knitting Factory gig have been posted at Highwire Daze.
April 5th 2007 Vixen have a new live date on April 28th at the Knitting Factory, Hollywood. There is also a new interview with Jan up at Rock My Monkey and a new Vixen forum which they are hosting here. Some topics covered in the interview include possibly making a video for a song from Live & Learn, and the release of the DVD from the Sweden Rock festival possibly this summer. Bubble will be playing a short FREE set at the launch party for Share & Bam's Punk Knits book on Sunday, April 22nd. The party is at the Stitch Cafe, CA from 3pm - 6pm. March 26th 2007 Win an autographed Vixen guitar! The House of Hair are running a contest with a grand prize of the guitar and a personal phone call from Jan. Also on offer are 25 copies of Live & Learn. But hurry as the contest ends March 28th. Roktopuss news - Roxy and Lorraine are writing some new material and are putting together some live dates, they might hit the UK before the States. Plus they apparently have something in the works for a reality show ... March 7th 2007 There are two new interviews with Jan now available to read, at Lords of Metal and Music Morsels. And I just noticed that the Bubble website has been redesigned. Not much stuff there yet, but Share does say that there's just her and Bam in the band now, they will be getting a new bassist, and look for them to be playing gigs in Hollywood in April! February 12th 2007 The current issue of Classic Rock magazine (March 2007, special 'lost' issue), has an article on Roktopuss. Here it is : Feb 13th : A 1 minute sample of a new Roktopuss song, Away, has been posted at their myspace and on Roxy's page.
January 19th 2007 Vixen will be appearing tomorrow, Jan 20th, at the NAMM show in Los Angeles at the Luna Guitars and ddrums booths. Look out also soon for the US release of the Live & Learn CD, on Jan 30th. A new interview with Maxine has been posted at glam-metal.com. Her new CD is currently being mixed and then mastered, and will be released sometime in 2007. December 17th 2006 Somewhat late posting this after switching over to a new computer, but just a quick note to say that the official Vixen website has a new design, including new backgrounds and photos. Check it out at www.vixenrock.com Higher quality backstage pictures from the Roktopuss Halloween show have been posted in Roxy's scrapbook. December 7th 2006 Some more Roktopuss news : a couple of videos from the show and pictures from backstage have now been posted. And some of my pictures have also been used in the Roktopuss photo gallery and on Roxy's page ;-) November 4th 2006 A little report on the first ever Roktopuss show! ![]() They played a Femme Fatale cover, Waiting for the Big One, and the Vixen cover was I Want You to Rock Me (or Rok Me ;-) ). In addition to that were the
2 songs, Naked and Dog Bite, that have previously been posted on the internet, High which I realised after that I had heard and was from Lorraine's previous project Snowball, and what I assume were 2 new Roktopuss songs, Away and Desperate (not the Vixen song)
which was an acoustic track played by only Lorraine and Jeff Young. A great, energetic performance by everyone and Roxy certainly still hits her drums as hard as ever!
Rounding up some Vixen news : October 11th 2006 New Vixen live dates have been posted for Europe in December. These include several in Germany, one each in Austria, Switzerland & Spain, and three in Finland on the "Christmas is Heavy" tour with Yngwie Malmsteen & U.D.O. See the tour dates page on the official Vixen site for full details. I have added a few live photos from Spain to my live pix page. October 9th 2006 On September 29th most of Vixen (Jan, Lynn, Kat & Chris) were at a pre-show party for the Rockzinante Excalibur Metal Festival. I was lucky enough to be admitted to the restricted area where they were for a short time, and to meet them (again ;-) ) Here is a picture of my friend Eva giving the belt to Jan as alluded to in the previous news item :
The show itself was fantastic, the girls really enjoyed the extra room on stage to run around in, and got a great response
from the Spanish crowd. The set was a little shorter, maybe partly due to timing problems with the festival, from memory something like -
Love Made Me, Anyway, Streets in Paradise, Live & Learn, How Much Love, Rock Me, Love is a Killer, Pacifist, Cryin', Rev It Up,
You Wish, Cruisin', Edge of a Broken Heart. Afterwards we located the access way to the backstage and begged the security guy there to get Vixen to come out,
after a while they did - Jan, Lynn, and Jenna fresh from her trip to Italy :-)
A clip of Cryin' from the festival can be seen here. Release dates for Vixen's new album Live & Learn have been announced, so far they are : Also there will be some more Vixen live dates in Europe in December, including Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Spain. The Finnish dates at least appear to be part of a tour with Yngwie Malmsteen and U.D.O. More news soon! September 30th 2006 Maxine has posted a new song on myspace, a cover of Black Sabbathīs Symptom of the Universe. She has a new album almost completed, itīs in the mixing stages at the moment and Maxine is looking to get it released in early 2007. She is very excited about it and feels itīs a big step up from the Titania CD. And lastly, she is also putting a band together to play some shows. Vixen made an appearance last night at the Excalibur metal pub in Madrid, where Jan was presented with a beautiful belt by a Spanish girl ;-) How do I know? Stay tuned ... August 17th 2006 Both of Vixen's new CDs, Live & Learn and Extended Versions, are now available to buy from the store on Vixen's website.
And speaking as someone who was lucky enough to get both CDs at the Camden Underworld show in London I can say that they're well worth it ;-) Current Vixen press appearances include Classic Rock magazine and a review of the Underworld show in this week's Kerrang. July 25th 2006 The myspace page for Jan is now official, view it at http://www.myspace.com/jankuehnemund July 21st 2006 An extensive interview with Jenna has been posted on rockdetector.com A clip of Cryin' live on June 23rd at the Whisky has been posted on YouTube. Note : the myspace page mentioned in the previous news item has been changed so that it now says it is a tribute page to Jan. You can see it at http://www.myspace.com/jankuehnemund, but remember, this is not Jan! July 19th 2006 From the official site, Vixen have signed with Demolition Records for the release of Live & Learn (it should be out some time in September). The cover and tracklisting can be seen on the discography page, as can that for the Extended Versions album which is finally available to order! See Tower Records. Also, a notice about some myspace pages, two official, those for
Jenna Sanz-Agero and Lynn Louise Lowrey July 10th 2006 The week after Lorraine's interview, The Headbanger's Basement has posted an interview with Jan done during the last Vixen tour. The majority of the UK dates will go ahead as planned, some other European dates will be rescheduled and a couple of new festival dates have been added. See the tour page for the latest information. Could the Extended Versions (aka Live in Sweden) CD finally be about to be released?? There is an entry for it on cduniverse.com, check it out for the tracklisting .... backordered at the moment but as the last official release date given was July 11, perhaps it will be available to order soon. July 2nd 2006 Live footage of Vixen from a recent 2006 show has been posted at youtube : Here are the setlists for the Tulsa 12/6 and the Long Beach 17/6 shows :
Pictures from the above 2 shows can now be viewed on the live pix page. June 28th 2006 There is an interview with Lorraine Lewis up at The Headbanger's Basement, in which she talks about Roktopuss, her project with Roxy. Play or download segment 4 to hear it. Info from the interview includes the news that they are working on more songs and are now planning to play shows in late July/early August, starting off at LA. One Vixen track and one Femme Fatale track should be in the set. Could be Roxy at the Roxy! Also in this week's show a new track from Vixen, Give Me Away, is played at the beginning of segment 3. June 26th 2006 From Vixen's myspace page : Well at long last we have some updated information about the release of the live album (which was supposed to have been May 16). We are now told that the album is being manufactured tomorrow, June 27th and will be in stores in two weeks - JULY 11th!! We hope this is good information and we will keep you posted if it changes. More news to come on the studio album, so keep checking back... For those of you who were at the Whisky, we had a great time! Thanks for your support. And, before I get round to posting some live pics, here's one of Kat & Jan from after the Long Beach show ;-) ![]() June 24th 2006 I've just got back from LA! I saw Vixen in Long Beach on June 17th (not quite able to stay on for the Whisky show) and before that at the Tulsa, OK show on the 12th. Many thanks to Bruce & Ilknur in Tulsa for the invite and their hospitality! Both shows were fantastic, the girls were in fine form and it was great to meet them too! Will post some pics and maybe videos as well over the next few days so look out for that. Now, a round up of news from while I've been away ... From blabbermouth.net :
Note, as far as I'm aware, House of Lords are only playing on the UK shows (the "Lords and Ladies" tour). The live album is unfortunately still not out, despite having a mid May release date originally. Boo to Sony/BMG! I have no definite info on the live DVD release ... I guess they were still shooting the bonus material for that when I saw them on tour in Tulsa ;-) A new interview with Jan can be read at rawandwild.com May 25th 2006 From melodicrock.com : VIXEN IN THE US: May 1st 2006 There is an interview with Roxy now up at glam-metal.com More Vixen dates have been announced, including the Rockzinante Excalibur Metal Festival in Madrid, Spain and the
