June 18th 2009

Roxy obviously made quite an impression at the Cape Breton Drum Festival - she will be amongst the 2010 recipients of their Legends Award!  Also she will be performing there again next year.  Congratulations to her!

Jan has a couple of items of memorabilia - her coat from the cover of the first Vixen album, and Vixen orange logo guitar from Rev It Up - on display at an exhibit in The Henry Ford Museum in Michigan.  Pictures can be seen on the official Vixen page.

In addition, a couple of video clips have been posted on Youtube :
Edge of a Broken Heart  and  Cryin'

More news on Janet via Share's blog ;-) - she mentions Janet singing with Scrap Metal and goes on to say :
"It’s gonna be on Fox TV as well and she’ll be featured in PowerPlay Magazine in the UK! Right on Janet!!!!"

Plus Share says "I’m gonna be a regular Rock Star Counselor and they’ve got more camps lined up for Los Angeles in November."

June 2nd 2009

Roxy has posted a report of her appearance at the Cape Breton International Drum Festival.  Check it out here.

Janet will be performing live for the first time in a few years.  She will be a guest of Scrap Metal (a band made up of various 80s/90s band members which often features guest vocalists) at their show on June 6th at the Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, Connecticut.  For full details see here.

A recap of Share's experience as Rock Star Counselor at the Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp including photos is now up on her site.

May 11th 2009

Metal In My Veins can now be listened to on Maxine's myspace, and Roxy's myspace (seems to have come out with the drums sounding clearer even though it's not a different mix!)

May 8th 2009

Roxy has posted :

METAL IN MY VEINS recorded by Maxine and yours truly will debut Sunday May 10th @ new time: 10pm (EST) on WRIF radio in Detroit, and on http://www.wrif.com/motorcityriffs/

(This must be a re-recording of the old Madam X track, with Maxine now on vocals)

Maxine has another show (as part of a 4 band bill), on Saturday June 13th at 'New York New York' in Chesterfield, Michigan.  I think it could be a double celebration on that day ;-)

May 1st 2009

Jenna was interviewed today on www.angelofmetal.com.  Apparently the Live in Sweden CD/DVD is still due out sometime this year, whereas the new studio album will likely be recorded towards the end of the year for release in 2010.
The interview should be available later for relistening in their interview archive.

April 20th 2009

Finally, you can follow her at http://twitter.com/shareross

April 6th 2009

On Yedda.com a fan has posted asking what Janet is doing now and Janet has replied!  Here is what she said :

Hey, Janet Gardner here. A friend of my brother ran across this, and thought I should answer your question. First, I want to thank you for the kind words and support. It's people like you who make me really miss singing!!!! Yes, I am alive and well. No, I did not marry Bruce Payne. I am happily married to Andy Katz, who I met during the recording of the "Tangerine" CD. He engineered part of that CD (He's in the credits), and he is also an amazing guitarist. We have a five year old son named Ryan. I graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 2005 with a degree in Dental Hygiene (It was interesting to discover that that half of my brain actually still works!), and I practice DH 3 days a week in CT (My son keeps me busy the rest of the time). My hubby and I have been tossing some musical ideas around, and as soon as we finish some of it, we'll put up a myspace page or something so anyone who is interested can hear it. I am very happy, but the music has been missing far too long for both me and my husband, so we're going to get back to it! Vixen?...most likely never again, however, I would work with Roxy, Share or Gina any day of the week! Still love 'em, and they're some of the most talented musicians on the planet. Thanks again for the support, and I miss you guys! TC, Janet (This is really me, not just some goofball pretending to be me)

March 26th 2009

Maxine Petrucci finally has a live date!  She will be playing the Token Lounge in Westland, Michigan on April 18th.  As far as I can tell, her band line-up is Jeff Whittle (Bass), Pat Deleon (Drums), and Michelle and Melissa Russo (Backing vocals) along with herself on guitar and vocals of course.

March 25th 2009

The Cape Breton International Drum Festival has a new website, http://www.capebretoninternationaldrumfestival.com.  According to the program, Roxy will be performing on the Saturday, May 23rd.

March 19th 2009

Vixen have now confirmed that they will be playing at Rocklahoma.  They are set to appear on Sunday July 12th.

March 15th 2009

The official Rocklahoma website lists Vixen as being confirmed to play this year's event :

"PRYOR, OK — Rocklahoma, the premier eighties
music festival being held July 9-12 in Pryor, Oklahoma
has announced thirty-two of over ninety of the bands
that will be playing at the Third Annual Rocklahoma.

Signed on to appear at the 3rd Annual Rocklahoma is
Twisted Sister, Great White, Vixen, Saxon ..."

However this hasn't been confirmed by the band yet so I would advise thinking of their appearance as not being set in stone (bearing in mind what happened last year!)

January 30th 2009

October 28th 2008

Maxine's new CD "Don't Hate Me" is now available to buy from the website maxattacks.com (along with her first CD Titania).  It's also available from her myspace, where a new song, Razzed, has been posted.

See below for the front and back covers, including the tracklisting :

October 26th 2008

An interview with Share has been posted at glitzine.net
This includes discussion of Vixen, Contraband, Dogs D'Amour and what happened to Bubble.

As to the last item, Share says that since they have a new bass player and new songs the band is not going to be Bubble anymore!  The new band is called The Lovestains and so the last Bubble gig was the one on Sept 25th at the Viper Room.

October 20th 2008

Roxy has posted a blog on myspace in which she says that the project with Janet and Share has not progressed as far as expected.  It seems unlikely that anything will come to fruition ; "I'm not sure if or when we'll record together".  However she will be in the studio this week recording a song with guitarist Gina Stile (from the Tangerine album).
Read the blog here.
Edit : changed to "not sure when we'll record together" ; Roxy trying to be positive ;-)

October 14th 2008

For more info see her blog on myspace here.

August 21st 2008

The video for Give Me Away is now online.  Watch it at Myspace or Youtube.  The quality on Myspace is better than the standard version on Youtube, but if you choose 'watch in high quality' on Youtube that may be the best overall :-)

Roxy has also posted a video on Myspace, this is a short clip in the studio with her 'Hi Hat'.

August 13th 2008

Vixen have posted a blog about a new music video for the song Give Me Away which will be premiering on August 20th.  It will be able to be viewed on myspace and youtube.

Share has also posted a blog.  This is regarding Bubble - they have a new bass player, and a gig coming up on Sept 25th at the Viper Room.  More info in the Bubble blog : the new bass player is Dat Ngo from The Superbees and Donita Sparks.

May 20th 2008

Share has posted a blog on her myspace page, in which she talks about a couple of musical projects she and Bam (her husband and drummer in Bubble) are working on.  One is a new Bubble album, and the other will be a project where they have many guests play and sing on the album.

Meanwhile, Vixen are currently writing for their next studio album, tentatively due spring 2009 with an accompanying tour.

May 14th 2008

There is to be a reunion of 3 members of the original Vixen recording line-up.  A full reunion of the band that recorded the first 2 albums wasn't possible but Roxy, Janet and Share have decided to record some new material together.  See Roxy's blog about it here.
Note, they will not be using the Vixen name, the current line-up (Jan, Jenna, Lynn, Kat) will continue.

May 9th 2008

Roxy has written a blog for the Modern Drummer myspace site, talking about John Bonham's playing and the time she and Maxine met Led Zeppelin.  Check it out here.

May 6th 2008

Here is the interview with Jan from Headbang, again the article as published in the April 2008 issue, followed by the interview in English.  Thanks again to Ilknur for the mag and the text!

April 15th 2008

I now have available for viewing Roxy's interview in Headbang, click here to see the article followed by the interview in English.  I guess that is the original version as I'm not aware that Roxy speaks Turkish ;-)  Note that the article was originally published in January 2008.  Many thanks to Ilknur for the pic and the text!

April 3rd 2008

Roxy is currently recording a drum track for a tune with Carina Alfie.  The title of the track is "Universe of Dreams" and it should be included on the next CD by the Argentinian guitarist.

April 1st 2008

Roxy has posted a new track, Pounding Torque, essentially a solo drum track with added motorbike noises plus percussion from Brian Judkins.  You can hear it on her myspace page or her official website (go to audio clips).

Jan's interview with the Turkish Headbang magazine is now out, in the April 08 issue.  Again, I will have scans and a translation at some point!

February 7th 2008

There is a new interview with Roxy at MUEN Magazine.  It is located in this blog, towards the bottom left.  Amongst other things, Roxy talks about the possibility of working with guitarist Carina Alfie, and playing some summer shows, including maybe Rocklahoma.

Roxy will also have a new column in Music Entertainment Magazine - if you have a drumming question for her, email it to: groovequeen@musicentertainmentmagazine.com

January 23rd 2008

Following Jan's interview, there is now a podcast available of Jenna's interview with the MIB show on hardrockradiolive.com

January 18th 2008

Vixen have launched an official youtube channel.  Go to this location to watch videos ranging from promo videos from the 1980s to recent live footage of the current line-up.

January 11th 2008

An audio interview with Jan originally broadcast on hardrockradiolive.com is now available as a podcast to listen to/download.  During the interview mention is made of the Live in Sweden DVD which may be released as a package with the live CD around spring time, and of possible tour dates - US summer shows and European summer festival dates, with maybe some additional dates in the spring or fall.

There is an interview with Roxy in the January 08 issue of Headbang - a supplement which comes with the Turkish magazine Blue Jean.  I hope to have a scan of the article and an English translation at some point ;-)

December 11th 2007

There is a new interview with Roxy now up at Metal Monthly.  There is also an interview with Vixen on the same site, though I don't know how new that is ;-)

Photos from the Hard Rock Hell Festival are posted on Lynn Louise Lowrey's page.

November 21st 2007

Jan & Jenna have made it to the final of the USA Songwriting Competition in the Rock category with 'I Try' from the Live & Learn album.
New reviews from Hard Rock Hell are up at Rock of Ages and Baconmusic (3 Vixen pictures can be found at the end of the review).

Various sites, including blabbermouth and bravewords, are reporting that Vixen will play the Rocklahoma festival in 2008.  However, this seems to be based on a Vixen at Rocklahoma date being posted on pollstar.com which has since been removed, so do not take this as being confirmed.

Another new interview with Roxy can be read at Heavy Metal Time Machine.  In addition to Roktopuss, Roxy says she is planning on recording instrumentals (she was working on one with bass work by Michael Pisculli at the time of the interview) and also recording more 'heavy kickass tunes' with her sister Maxine.

November 1st 2007

A new interview with Roxy is up at http://metalzoneprod666.com, The World's Online Underground Metal Magazine.
Here is the direct link to the interview.
Of particular interest is what Roxy says about the guitarist position in Roktopuss :
"We've worked with Brian Young from DLR, and Jeff Young from Megadeth.  They're both great guitar players, however they're also very busy with other projects ... We're currently speaking with an excellent guitarist who we hope will be a permanent addition to Roktopuss."

October 19th 2007

There is a review of Roktopuss' 4-track demo CD up now at rockunited.com

October 17th 2007

The release of Vixen's Live in Sweden CD has been put back.  From Blabbermouth :
VIXEN's "Live in Sweden" CD has been postponed until early next year "due to circumstances beyond our control involving the Sanctuary/Universal takeover," according to a Vigilante Music newsletter.
(Castle Music, the label which the album is to be released on, is part of Sanctuary Records which was recently taken over by Universal Music).

A new interview with Roxy Petrucci regarding Roktopuss and her musical influences, etc has been posted at AOR Underground.

October 5th 2007

Here are scans of Roktopuss from the Sept 07 issue of Music Entertainment Magazine.  Thanks so much to Anthony at ME Mag, check out their website and myspace page.

September 14th 2007

It seems that the dates for the proposed Vixen/Hanoi Rocks/LA Guns tour were prematurely posted (on Phil Lewis of LA Guns' myspace) and were not confirmed.  See statements on the official Vixen page and the official Hanoi Rocks page.  Also any tickets that were being sold are being withdrawn from sale, see the livenation page for the proposed Astoria show which lists it as cancelled for example.  It remains to be seen whether any shows will go ahead ...
(Vixen's appearance at Hard Rock Hell is confirmed.)

September 10th 2007

Maxine has posted a new song on her myspace page, called "My QT".  This is from her forthcoming album, "Don't Hate Me".
Also on her page is a video of a show called "Have Sword Will Travel", which features a couple of her new songs.  Lastly, Maxine has put a band together and hopes to start playing live shows as soon as possible.

Roktopuss news : Roxy and Lorraine are on the cover of the latest issue of Music Entertainment Magazine, along with an extensive article inside.  The magazine is distributed for free in Florida.

August 30th 2007

August 26th 2007

Lynn Louise Lowrey was just interviewed tonight on Smokin Tunz Radio.  News revealed during the interview is that Vixen will be teaming up for a European tour with L.A. Guns and Hanoi Rocks.  This will be starting in October, through November, and possibly into December.  One date that was mentioned is Nov 17th at the Astoria in London.
Also the release of the Live in Sweden DVD is currently set for spring 2008.
In addition to discussing matters related to Vixen, Lynn's solo track 'Bulldog' was premiered on the show.

August 16th 2007

Vixen will release a live album, 'Live in Sweden', on October 8th via Castle (Castle Music I assume, a subsidiary of Sanctuary Records).  The CD was recorded at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2005, and I believe should be longer than the Extended Versions CD which was taken from the same show, although possibly it still won't feature the full 19 song set.
This is from an article at Bravewords.com which also includes this picture :

Presumably the album cover?
Also it says "Vixen will be returning to the UK for a tour in November", I believe this is not 100% confirmed yet but hopefully it will be soon ...

Aug 18th : the track listing has been posted on the official Vixen site.

July 13th 2007

Vixen has a new tour date, on September 1st at the Power Box Festival in Darrington, WA.  This is an all female festival including other artists such as Doro, the Iron Maidens and Girlschool, with part of the event's proceeds going to Caring Coaches, a non-profit organization for cancer research awareness.
Also, Vixen will be appearing at the Hard Rock Hell Festival in Minehead, UK on November 9th.  They will be on the 'Angels and Demons' stage.

May 7th 2007

Live pictures from the Knitting Factory gig have been posted at Highwire Daze.
Vixen were interviewed on KNAC on April 28th before the show.  They said they have started writing some new material and talked about upcoming live dates.  I believe that it is likely to be summer dates in the US, and European shows in the autumn.
Here is a capture from the KNAC webcam ;-)

April 5th 2007

Vixen have a new live date on April 28th at the Knitting Factory, Hollywood.  There is also a new interview with Jan up at Rock My Monkey and a new Vixen forum which they are hosting here.  Some topics covered in the interview include possibly making a video for a song from Live & Learn, and the release of the DVD from the Sweden Rock festival possibly this summer.

Bubble will be playing a short FREE set at the launch party for Share & Bam's Punk Knits book on Sunday, April 22nd.  The party is at the Stitch Cafe, CA from 3pm - 6pm.

March 26th 2007

Win an autographed Vixen guitar!  The House of Hair are running a contest with a grand prize of the guitar and a personal phone call from Jan.  Also on offer are 25 copies of Live & Learn.  But hurry as the contest ends March 28th.

Roktopuss news - Roxy and Lorraine are writing some new material and are putting together some live dates, they might hit the UK before the States.  Plus they apparently have something in the works for a reality show ...

March 7th 2007

There are two new interviews with Jan now available to read, at Lords of Metal and Music Morsels.

And I just noticed that the Bubble website has been redesigned.  Not much stuff there yet, but Share does say that there's just her and Bam in the band now, they will be getting a new bassist, and look for them to be playing gigs in Hollywood in April!

February 12th 2007

The current issue of Classic Rock magazine (March 2007, special 'lost' issue), has an article on Roktopuss.  Here it is :

Feb 13th : A 1 minute sample of a new Roktopuss song, Away, has been posted at their myspace and on Roxy's page.

January 19th 2007

Vixen will be appearing tomorrow, Jan 20th, at the NAMM show in Los Angeles at the Luna Guitars and ddrums booths.  Look out also soon for the US release of the Live & Learn CD, on Jan 30th.

A new interview with Maxine has been posted at glam-metal.com.  Her new CD is currently being mixed and then mastered, and will be released sometime in 2007.
